United States: good to know
- PEP in this country. The Public Health Institute at Denver Health says that if you may have been exposed to HIV in the past 72 hours you should call the Denver Sexual Health Clinic (303-602-3540) as soon as possible about being evaluated for nPEP, or go to Denver Health's Urgent Care or Emergency Department. It does not publish a price for PEP for people without US insurance.
- What visitors pay. US care is rarely free for visitors. The Denver Sexual Health Clinic says people over 19 without insurance pay $20 to $90 for testing on a sliding scale, some services are charged on a sliding fee scale of $0 to $70, patients aged 18 and under are seen without fees, and no one is denied care based on ability to pay.
