Sexual health clinics in United States
We list city and county sexual health clinics, LGBTQ+ community health centres, non-profit testing sites and a few hospital emergency departments for PEP. Care in the United States is rarely free for visitors: public clinics usually charge a flat or sliding-scale fee, though many say no one is turned away for being unable to pay, and community sites often test for HIV free. Almost no source mentions visitors from abroad, and prices for people without US insurance are rarely published.

- PEP in this country
Every source gives a 72-hour window; the route depends on the city. New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC run 24-hour PEP hotlines, though DC's is described as for District residents. Health departments in Seattle and Denver name a clinic to call by day and a hospital emergency department after hours; Hawaii's says to go to an emergency room. Elsewhere it is a public or community clinic in opening hours, usually by phone first. In Austin, Kind Clinic says patients must live in Texas; in Portland the county clinic listed PEP as temporarily unavailable. Prices are rarely published; King County says a course costs about $600 to over $1,000.

US care is rarely free for visitors, and what you pay depends on the city. Some city and county clinics publish fees: $30 flat in Austin, $50 a visit in Portland with no ID or county residency needed, $20 to $90 for testing in Denver, and an income-based sliding scale in New York with no proof asked. Philadelphia's city clinic and Hawaii's state clinic in Honolulu say testing and treatment are free. Other public clinics publish no amounts, and Fulton County's clinics in Atlanta ask for proof of county residency. Community organisations often test for HIV free. None of these pages mentions visitors from abroad, so ask before you go.
