About
A central branch of a long-established private laboratory chain that sells an HIV test online at a published price in colones and is open seven days a week, including Sunday mornings; testing only, no treatment.
This clinic doesn’t advertise itself as LGBTQ+ friendly. Most clinics don’t, so this isn’t a sign that it’s unwelcoming. If you’ve been, tell us how you were treated.

Costa Rica: good to know
- What visitors pay. UNHCR's Costa Rica help site says anyone in an emergency always has the right to be treated in the public system (the Caja, CCSS), and that a person without insurance is billed for the services after being treated. It also says people living with HIV have the right to uninterrupted antiretroviral treatment and can get state-paid insurance if they have no other cover. The page is written for refugees and asylum seekers and does not mention tourists, HIV testing or PEP.Published by UNHCR Costa Rica· 19 Sep 2026
