Australia: good to know

  • PEP in this country. In Victoria PEP is available from the emergency departments of most public hospitals, sexual health clinics and some GP clinics that specialise in sexual health. After hours, an emergency department is usually the fastest place to start.
  • PEP in this country. getpep.info marks which Victorian clinics supply PEP at a reduced cost to people without Medicare; Melbourne Sexual Health Centre and The Alfred’s infectious diseases clinic are among them.
  • What visitors pay. Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, the public clinic, says its services are free for everyone, including international visitors. Community and GP clinics publish separate, higher fees for people without Medicare.
