United States: good to know

  • What visitors pay. US care is rarely free for visitors. The Southern Nevada Health District's community health centre, which runs the public Sexual Health Clinic, says no patient will be denied services because they cannot pay. Its sliding-fee discounts are based on income and family size and need an application form; no prices are published.
  • PEP in this country. PEP must start within 72 hours of a possible exposure. The Southern Nevada Health District's Sexual Health Clinic provides PEP and asks people needing it to make an appointment (702-759-1700); the clinic is closed at weekends.
