United States: good to know

  • What visitors pay. The Detroit Health Department's STD clinic on Mack Avenue says services are provided regardless of a person's ability to pay. It does not publish amounts, and it does not say what someone without US insurance would be asked for.
  • PEP in this country. The city's own STD clinic lists post-exposure prophylaxis among its services on weekdays. PEP has to start within 72 hours of exposure, so outside those hours a hospital emergency department is the route.

Emergency number: 911
