United Kingdom: good to know
- What visitors pay. In England, NHS services for diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted infections, and A&E (emergency) care, are free to all overseas visitors. Umbrella Health, the NHS sexual health service for Birmingham and Solihull, describes all its services as free.
- PEP in this country. Umbrella Health says PEP (it calls it PEPSE) is available from Whittall Street Clinic during opening hours, or from your nearest A&E department, and must be given within 72 hours of the exposure. Umbrella names no particular hospital; the NHS says PEP is available from sexual health clinics and A&E.
