- What visitors pay. Aids-Hilfe Schweiz says PEP is paid by Swiss mandatory health insurance; a visitor without it pays the hospital. Checkpoint Basel cannot bill insurers and publishes self-pay prices: a rapid HIV test CHF 70, HIV and syphilis lab tests CHF 100, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis CHF 155, PrEP start CHF 244, a doctor's consultation without tests CHF 60, with a discount possible in hardship cases. From Checkpoint Basel’s website· 22 Sep 2026
