PEP in this country

Checkpoint Zürich works to a 48-hour window rather than 72. It takes walk-ins for PEP during its opening hours, seven days a week. When it is closed, it says not to wait and to go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away. It describes PEP as working best within hours and no longer useful after 48 hours.

What visitors pay

Checkpoint Zürich says Swiss basic health insurance covers PEP and, since July 2024, PrEP. People paying themselves can pay on site at Checkpoint Zürich, which says self-payers get lower laboratory prices; routine STI tests cannot be billed to insurance there in any case. Ask what PEP costs without Swiss insurance before you start.
