Sweden: good to know
- What visitors pay. Sweden's national health service site 1177 says you never pay to be tested for the infections covered by the Communicable Diseases Act (chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, HIV and hepatitis B), and that all treatment for those infections is free. Sahlgrenska's clinic repeats this for visits with symptoms or to rule out one of those infections; other visits are charged at the regional rate. Neither page says whether a tourist without EU cover pays a visitor fee, so ask when you book.
