About
The regional government says this public hospital's STI and HIV service tests every day of the week from 7:00 to 13:00 and that you need neither Peru's public insurance nor EsSalud cover — "the care is for everyone, free of charge".
This clinic doesn’t advertise itself as LGBTQ+ friendly. Most clinics don’t, so this isn’t a sign that it’s unwelcoming. If you’ve been, tell us how you were treated.

Peru: good to know
- PEP in this country. Vía Libre, a Lima sexual health NGO, says PEP must be started within 72 hours of the exposure and can be found at every Ministry of Health (Minsa) or EsSalud hospital that provides antiretroviral treatment (TARGA). In Arequipa the Hospital Goyeneche runs that treatment programme, so it is the first place to ask; no source gives a price for a visitor.Community-endorsed Vía Libre· 22 Sep 2026
