Germany: good to know

  • What visitors pay. The City of Munich says counselling and laboratory tests at its STI advice centre are free and anonymous; only the optional rapid HIV test costs €26. Its page describes the test sessions as open to all Munich citizens and does not mention visitors. The community Checkpoint charges per test (HIV €26, full package €60) and says it is for everyone.
  • PEP in this country. Deutsche Aidshilfe's PEP map lists two places in Munich that start PEP: the emergency department of LMU Klinikum Campus Innenstadt and Klinikum rechts der Isar. It says PEP can still be tried in the first two days after a risk and that every hour counts, so go straight to an emergency department rather than waiting for a clinic to open.

Emergency number: 112
