Germany: good to know
- What visitors pay. The Saxon health ministry's brochure (March 2024) lists the Dresden health office's counselling centre at Bautzner Straße 125 and Aids-Hilfe Dresden among services whose counselling is confidential, free and anonymous and open to everyone; the offices offer HIV lab and rapid tests and lab and rapid STI tests, and it says to phone for an appointment. Aids-Hilfe Dresden tests free, confidentially and anonymously by appointment.
- PEP in this country. Deutsche Aidshilfe's HIV-Kompass lists Universitätsklinikum Dresden (immunodeficiency outpatient clinic by day, emergency department at night and weekends) and both campuses of Städtisches Klinikum Dresden (Friedrichstadt and Neustadt) as PEP sites, and says PEP can still be tried in the first two days after a risk and that every hour counts. None of these sources says what a visitor without German insurance pays.Community-endorsed Deutsche Aidshilfe (HIV-Kompass)· 22 Sep 2026
