Denmark's citizen portal says temporary visitors get free treatment that cannot wait until they are home if they hold a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), live in another Nordic country or are under 18. Private providers and planned treatment are not covered. Visitors from elsewhere should expect that they may be charged for public hospital care and should carry travel insurance. AIDS-Fondet's Checkpoint describes its tests as free.
