The main public hospital in Far North Queensland, open around the clock on the Esplanade; Queensland Health says PEP can be accessed from any public emergency department, which is the route outside sexual health clinic hours.
This clinic doesn’t advertise itself as LGBTQ+ friendly. Most clinics don’t, so this isn’t a sign that it’s unwelcoming. If you’ve been, tell us how you were treated.

- What visitors pay. Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service says its sexual health service, which tests and treats STIs including HIV and hepatitis, is free and confidential. It does not say whether that covers visitors without Medicare, and Cairns Hospital's pages do not give emergency fees for overseas visitors.
