About
A provincial preventive-medicine centre a few blocks from the city centre that the Mendoza government has named as a free, confidential HIV testing site and as the place where the province's PrEP programme sees people; the sources are old, so phone or ask locally first.
This clinic doesn’t advertise itself as LGBTQ+ friendly. Most clinics don’t, so this isn’t a sign that it’s unwelcoming. If you’ve been, tell us how you were treated.

Argentina: good to know
- PEP in this country. Argentina's Ministry of Health says PEP and PrEP are available free of charge to everyone who needs them under Law 27.675, and that PEP must be started as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours after the exposure. The page does not say where to go or how this applies to short-term visitors.Published by Ministerio de Salud de la Nación· 19 Sep 2026
- PEP in this country. Fundación Huésped says PEP is free and available at public health centres and hospitals, and that it is taken for 28 days. In practice this means going to a public hospital's emergency department (guardia) as soon as you can.Community-endorsed Fundación Huésped· 19 Sep 2026
- What visitors pay. Public hospitals are no longer free for every foreigner. The national government says hospitals run by the national state now charge foreigners who are not permanent residents, who must show health insurance or pay before non-emergency care, while emergency care cannot be refused or delayed. Mendoza's public hospitals are run by the province, not the national state, so ask what applies before a non-urgent visit.Published by Gobierno de Argentina· 19 Sep 2026
