Sexual health clinics in Uruguay
Listings are in Montevideo: a municipal neighbourhood clinic that does rapid HIV tests, and a private hospital with a 24-hour emergency department that says it sees patients with travel insurance and self-paying patients without cover. Ask what visitors pay before treatment. For PEP, go to a hospital emergency department.

- Testing
In Montevideo, ASEPO, Uruguay's long-standing HIV support organisation, lists about twenty municipal neighbourhood clinics (policlínicas of the Intendencia de Montevideo) that do rapid HIV tests, most of them without an appointment. It does not say what visitors pay or which documents are needed, so phone the clinic first. ASEPO also runs a free, confidential HIV information line in Spanish on 0800 3131; it is not a PEP prescribing service.
