Sexual health clinics in Uganda
Both Kampala listings are non-profit HIV services that also test and treat sexually transmitted infections: a wellness centre on Kira Road that publishes weekday hours and free antiretroviral therapy, and the country's oldest voluntary counselling and testing organisation in Mengo Kisenyi. Same-sex sexual activity is criminalised, including under the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023.

- What visitors pay
The Kira Road wellness centre describes free antiretroviral therapy, free HIV services and free condom distribution, and lists HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis testing with STI management on weekdays from 08:00 to 17:00. Neither Kampala service says what a short-term visitor pays for a test, and the Mengo Kisenyi centre publishes no hours at all, so phone before you go.

Same-sex sexual activity is criminalised in Uganda. The Human Dignity Trust records a maximum penalty of life imprisonment under the Penal Code 1950, and that the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023, in force since May 2023, widened the offences: life imprisonment under section 2, the death penalty for what the Act calls aggravated homosexuality under section 3, and up to twenty years for promotion.
