Sexual health clinics in Portugal
Listings in Portugal are community and charity centres that offer free, anonymous rapid tests for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis, mainly aimed at men who have sex with men, trans people, sex workers and migrants. None of them says whether short-term visitors are accepted. PEP is not given at these centres; at a public hospital, ask what a visitor pays.

- PEP in this country
A leaflet from the community organisation GAT Portugal says PEP (PPE) is only available at the emergency department (urgência) of a public hospital; community centres and family doctors cannot prescribe it. It can be started up to 72 hours after the risk, the sooner the better, and is taken for four weeks. The leaflet says to call the national health line SNS 24 on 808 24 24 24 for advice after a risk, or go straight to a public hospital emergency department. This applies in Lisbon and Porto alike. Ask what a visitor is charged.
