Where To Test

Sexual health clinics in Mauritius

Mauritius's health ministry says HIV prevention, testing, treatment, care and support are free of charge and accessible to all individuals, through eight service points in hospitals and three one-stop shops. It names none of them, so the listing here is the drop-in centre of the country's main HIV organisation in Port Louis, which also runs a free confidential line on 8999.

PEP in this country

The ministry lists post-exposure prophylaxis and pre-exposure prophylaxis among the interventions in the national HIV response, alongside a test-and-treat strategy, but publishes no route to either and no eligibility rules. If you need PEP, go to a public hospital and say it is an HIV exposure within the last 72 hours.

What visitors pay

The Ministry of Health and Wellness states that its HIV prevention, testing, treatment, care and support services are available free of charge and accessible to all individuals, delivered through eight HIV service delivery points inside hospitals, three one-stop shops run as harm reduction units, and seven sites in the prison service. It does not name or map any of them, and does not say what a non-resident is asked for, so the 8999 line is the practical way to find the nearest one.

City pages carry the local detail: which clinic, which hospital, and what it costs there.
