Where To Test

Sexual health clinics in Macau

Macau's Health Bureau runs a free HIV rapid-testing network through non-profit clinics and NGOs, plus a counselling and testing room where the test is taken without your name. The free counselling and antibody test is described as being for holders of a Macau resident identity card, and private doctors and laboratories charge a fee that is not published, so ask the price before you are tested.

What visitors pay

Macau's HIV organisation says the Health Bureau's HIV counselling and antibody test is free for people holding a Macau resident identity card and is taken without a name, that the Workers' Medical Clinic branches give free rapid tests, and that private doctors and laboratories charge an unstated fee. Nothing published says whether a visitor qualifies for the free tests, so ask when you ring.

Testing

The Macao government says anyone who needs a test can go to a service point in Macau's free HIV rapid-testing network, and that the Health Bureau has run a self-testing scheme since 2021 in which a kit is ordered online and collected from a locker without meeting anyone. The Health Bureau's HIV testing page, www.ssm.gov.mo/hivtest, carries the details but blocks connections from outside Macau; its AIDS hotline is +853 2850 0600, which is also the booking line for the counselling and testing room in Taipa.

City pages carry the local detail: which clinic, which hospital, and what it costs there.

PrEP in Macau: none of our listed clinics says it supplies PrEP. It can also be ordered for delivery from PrEP Online.
