- PEP in this country
The Israel AIDS Task Force says PEP must start as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours after exposure, and that any hospital emergency room can start it 24 hours a day. Hospitals with an AIDS centre, such as Ichilov in Tel Aviv, may be quicker. It says an emergency room visit without a referral or health-fund commitment is charged a fee, which it quotes as 715 shekels. Its open line (+972 3 561 3300, Sunday to Thursday 17:00 to 20:00, also on WhatsApp) answers questions on where to get PEP.
Community-endorsed Israel AIDS Task Force· 19 Sep 2026- What visitors pay
The Ministry of Health's Levinsky Clinic says PEP is free for Israeli citizens through their health fund. It says nothing about visitors, so expect to pay for the emergency room visit and the medicine, and check what your travel insurance covers. What a tourist pays in total for PEP is not published.
