Ireland: good to know

  • PEP in this country. PEP medicine is free in Ireland and must be started within 72 hours. Sexual health clinics provide it during opening hours; at other times hospital emergency departments can start it, but they charge an attendance fee (currently €100, and it may differ for people from outside the EU).
  • What visitors pay. STI testing is free at public STI clinics in Ireland and at some community venues, including HIV Ireland. Public sources do not say whether this applies to short-term visitors.

Emergency number: 112
