About

Helsinki University Hospital's STI clinic examines and treats people with symptoms and assesses PEP and PrEP without a referral, by phone appointment only.

This clinic doesn’t advertise itself as LGBTQ+ friendly. Most clinics don’t, so this isn’t a sign that it’s unwelcoming. If you’ve been, tell us how you were treated.

Finland: good to know

  • PEP in this country. Hivpoint says that after a high-risk exposure you should contact a health centre or an emergency clinic, and that PEP must start within 72 hours, the sooner the better. Helsinki University Hospital's STI clinic assesses PEP without a referral in office hours and points to the Medical Helpline 116 117 for emergencies.

Emergency number: 112
