Free public PEP in Chile does not cover consensual sex. A Santiago public hospital states that the national PEP programme covers only occupational exposures and sexual assault, and tells anyone else to go to an emergency department. AHF Chile explains (July 2026) that otherwise the route is private: see a doctor, ideally an infectious diseases specialist, get a prescription and buy the 28-day course at a pharmacy, at roughly 80,000 Chilean pesos plus the consultation fee. PEP must start within 72 hours. AHF Chile does not supply PEP but will guide you by WhatsApp.
